DiDonato Consulting Services, Inc. (DCS), founded in 1997, represents over two decades of
wireless engineering experience in a wide range of areas. Some of these are described briefly below.
DCS Team members have performed detailed communications needs analyses for a wide range of public safety agencies
and other clients. This includes hundreds of direct interviews with dispatch, field, and management personnel from fire,
emergency medical, law enforcement and airport agencies across the country. This extensive experience yields a thorough
understanding of the challenges which face today's public safety personnel, and the communications required to help them
meet those challenges.
Large Scale Wireless Design:
DCS Team members have performed wireless engineering design services for
many critical systems. These designs allow an agency's budget to focus directly
on addressing their needs in the most cost-effective manner. Examples include:
* Development of a $50M digital simulcast 800 MHz trunked radio system for
Montgomery County, Maryland (project completed in 2004)
* Development of a $40M simulcast 800 MHz trunked radio system for the
City of Atlanta in preparation for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games
* A VHF encrypted wide-area system for the FBI, covering the states of
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island
* Public Safety land-mobile system designs for many county jurisdictions,
including Virginia, Maryland, New York, and others
* Extensive underground and in-building RF distributed antenna systems design at Dulles International Airport
* Design support for a complex comsolidated dispatch center at Washington-Reagan National airport
Propagation and RFI Analysis:
DCS Team Members have extensive experience in wireless propagation analyses
and RF interference studies. Mr. DiDonato holds a Master Certification
(RF Radiation) from the National Association of Radio & Telecommunications
Engineers.
Dispatch Facility Design:
DCS has provided critical design services for many public safety dispatch
facilities. Typical support includes staffing analyses, space planning,
operational development, and equipment definition.
Procurement Support:
DCS has provided many clients with detailed technical and functional
specifications. We also have extensive experience in developing objective
evaluation criteria and in supporting the technical phases of contract negotiations.
System Implementation - Program Management & Acceptance Testing:
Implementation Oversight:
After our client has executed a contract with a Vendor,
DCS provides project oversight to ensure that the
implementation is performed to high quality standards.
Factory Acceptance Testing:
Field Acceptance Testing:
After implementation is complete, DCS will supervise system
validation through both factory & field testing to ensure that all
contractual obligations are met and our client’s needs are achieved.
Voice Quality Coverage Testing:
